These are three of our favourite words and this year, the
site is completely flipped and we’ll have half of the festival grounds open to
the public for free.
With extra programming we’ve also added another day of the
festival for a grand total of five days. With so much to do at the festival
we’re offering a few picks of free things you can do at our festival whether
you bought a ticket or not.
·
Workshops
The Legacy Stage is located at the tip of the
park and has the best view of the water. Here, you can try out a slew of
offbeat and hands-on workshops from yodeling to learning how to play the ukulele.
Meanwhile, catch intimate song circles and
conversations with some of our headliners and local artists at the Slackwater
Stage all thanks to the Ottawa Folklore Centre.
·
Dance Tent
We have a springboard-loaded dancefloor for a reason.
The dance tent has always been a hit at the festival, and this year is no
exception with the PSAC-AFPC stage right beside it.
·
Free concerts
Saturday at PSAC-AFPC stage is looking especially
bouncy thanks to the Kitchen Party, a superband of stompin’ bluegrass artists,
and the Paul Midon, Mexico’s one-man human orchestra.
Sunday is truly a mix bag of free concert with
Full-tipped Sleeve’s indie folk, beatboxing courtesy of Julia Dales and a bunch
of our artists covering each others songs.
There’s a lot more going on including mural painting, the
community tent and a musical petting zoo to name a few so take advantage of the
free folk fun!
